Thinking about cutting the cord but you don’t want to give up TeenNick? If your answer was yes, you should know that there are now plenty of ways to watch TeenNick live via the internet. What’s more, you can also watch on-demand TeenNick content through a number of different sites.

Keep reading to learn everything you need to know to find out how to watch TeenNick without cable.

Sling TV is one of the cheapest ways to say goodbye to your cable company. Using Sling TV in combination with a TV antenna will enable you to get not only the cable channels you currently have, but also a wide array of niche channels that your local cable company probably doesn’t carry.

Channels and pricing

Sling TV offers two different base subscriptions: Sling Orange and Sling Blue. Both base plans cost $25. Whatever plan you choose, you can get TeenNick by ordering the $5/month Kids Extra add-on package. What’s more, you’ll also get NickToons and Nick Jr. That’s not a bad deal at all for $30.

One of the biggest differences between Sling Orange and Sling Blue is ESPN. Sling Orange has three ESPN channels (ESPN, ESPN2 and ESPN3), but Sling Blue doesn’t have any ESPN channels at all. Instead of ESPN, you get more channels. Sling Orange has just 32 channels. With Sling Blue, you get 45.

Of course, you can always just get both Sling Orange and Sling Blue. If you buy both packages, Sling TV will give you a $10 recurring discount on your monthly bill. With Sling Orange and Sling Blue plus the Kids Extra add-on, you’ll owe $45 each month.

Sling Orange Sling Blue Sling Orange + Blue
Price $25 $25 $40
Channels 30+ 40+ 50+
Simultaneous Streams 1 3 4*
ESPN Yes No Yes
Fire TV Support Yes Yes Yes
Roku Support Yes Yes Yes

* You get one stream with Sling Orange and up to 3 simultaneous streams with Sling Blue.

The main downside of Sling TV is that it’s local TV coverage isn’t great. However, this minor shortcoming probably won’t matter to you if you use an HD TV antenna to access your local broadcast stations. In some parts of the country, you may be able to stream your local Fox and NBC stations directly through Sling TV.

In addition to the lack of local TV coverage, another small problem with Sling TV is that it places restrictions on many of its features.

For example, you can’t use the cloud DVR unless you buy the $5 Cloud DVR add-on. Another limitation: you can’t record ESPNU, Freeform, Disney Channel, Disney XD, Disney JR, ESPN, ESPN2, ESPN3, ESPN Deportes, ESPN Goal Line, ESPN Bases Loaded, the SEC Network or any other Disney-owned channel.

Sling TV does allow account sharing, but there are restrictions here as well. All Sling Orange channels can only be streamed to one screen at a time. That means that if someone else in your house is watching a Sling Orange channel, you’ll have to wait until they’re done to watch the Sling Orange channel that you want to watch. Sling Blue channels can be streamed to up to three devices at once. These limitations are obviously not a problem if you don’t intend to share your account, but if you do it’s something to think about before you buy.

Sling TV’s device support, on the other hand, is excellent. One possible reason why Sling TV has so many apps is that it was one of the first cable replacement services to hit the market. Almost all TV devices can stream Sling TV content. The most notable device that’s missing is PlayStation.

  • Living room devices: Azulle Mini PC Sticks, Air TV Player, Amazon Fire TV, Android TV, Apple TV, Chromecast, Roku and Xaomi Mi TV.
  • Smart TVs and Blu-ray players: Models based on Android TV, Amazon Fire TV and Roku. Also, certain models from LG and Samsung.
  • Mobile devices and tablets: Amazon Fire tablets, Android and iOS.
  • Game consoles: Xbox One.
  • Desktop browsers: Chrome.

When it comes to unlocking content on TV Everywhere apps, Sling TV has pretty good compatibility. Your Sling TV credentials will unlock beIN SPORTS CONNECT, Bravo Airplay, CNBC Airplay, E! Now, FOX NOW, FX NOW, NatGeoTV, NFL Network, Olympic Channel, SYFY, WatchESPN and more.

Philo is a relatively new streaming service that recently made headlines when Facebook co-founder Andrew McCollum became one of its investors.

Like Sling TV, Philo competes against the other streaming services by offering very inexpensive subscription deals. Another similarity: both Sling TV and Philo had to make sacrifices in order to be able to afford their low prices. Philo opted to not carry any sports channels.

Channels and pricing

If you don’t care about sports and you simply want to save as much money as possible when you cut the cord, Philo may be worth a look. Philo’s cheapest plan costs just $16 per month and includes not only TeenNick, but also Nick Jr. Nick and 40+ other cable TV staples. For $4 more, you can get 57 channels. No other streaming service is cheaper.

In addition to omitting sports, Philo also decided against carrying any of the broadcast networks. That may not matter much if you’re using an HD antenna to tune into those. News is another category where Philo comes up short. BBC World News and Cheddar are the only news channels that Philo carries. Again, this shortcoming can be compensated by using Philo with a TV antenna. However, switching from Philo to your TV antenna and back again all the time can be a bit of a hassle.

Even though it’s very cheap, Philo’s features are quite competitive. All Philo subscribers get an unlimited cloud DVR. You can keep your recordings for up to 30 days.

When Philo first debuted, it only had a few apps. Now, a wide variety of TV devices support Philo. The most notable shortcoming here is game consoles.

  • Living room devices: Amazon Fire TV, Android TV, Apple TV, Roku.
  • Smart TVs and Blu-ray players: Televisions based on Fire TV, Android TV and Roku.
  • Mobile devices and tablets: Android and iOS.
  • Game consoles: None.
  • Desktop browsers: Chrome, Edge, Firefox and Safari.

Philo has surprisingly good TV Everywhere support. Your credentials will unlock over 30 different TV Everywhere apps. A&E, AMC, Animal Planet, Comedy Central, Food Network, IFC Nickelodeon and Nick Jr. are just a few of the TV Everywhere apps that you will be able to access.

AT&T’s DirecTV Now streaming service also carries TeenNick. When AT&T first debuted DirecTV Now, it had a limited array of features and some early subscribers described it as glitchy. However, the DirecTV Now 2.0 upgrade that came out last summer seems to have remedied most of the problems that were holding DirecTV Now back. Several new feature additions have made DirecTV Now very competitive.

Channels and pricing

TeenNick comes with all DirecTV Now plans. The cheapest plan on the menu is called “Live a Little.” It costs just $40 and includes 65+ channels, including Nick Jr. and Nick. If you’re willing to pay $55 per month, you can get NickToons as well with the “Just Right” plan.

One advantage that DirecTV Now has over Sling TV and Philo is that it carries all of the major broadcast networks. That means that if DirecTV Now has signed a deal with all your local broadcast networks, you can get all your TV in one place– no switching back and forth between inputs when you want to watch ABC, CBS, NBC or Fox. You can find out which local stations you’ll get if you subscribe by entering your zip code into the DirecTV Now website.

When DirecTV Now first debuted, it offered no option to record. But after the debut of DirecTV Now 2.0 last summer, all DirecTV Now subscribers got a 20-hour cloud DVR. Other streaming services offer more generous cloud DVR deals. On the other hand, 20 hours is likely enough recording time for most people.

In addition to adding a cloud DVR feature, AT&T improved DirecTV Now’s account sharing features. The default simultaneous streaming limit is two devices. However, you can now upgrade to three simultaneous streams if you’re willing to pay $5 extra per month.

In addition, your DirecTV Now credentials will unlock just about any TV Everywhere app or website. This is convenient because if you’ve reached your DirecTV Now simultaneous stream limit, you can use TV Everywhere instead to stream TV content or access on-demand shows.

DirecTV Now has good support for most TV devices, including Roku, Apple TV and Amazon Fire TV.

  • Living room devices: Amazon Fire TV, Apple TV, Roku.
  • Smart TVs and Blu-ray players: Televisions based on Fire TV and Roku.
  • Mobile devices and tablets: Android and iOS.
  • Game consoles: None.
  • Desktop browsers: Chrome and Safari.

Another nice thing about DirecTV Now is that you can often get a free TV device when you sign up for the service. Check the DirecTV Now website to find out what the latest deal is.

TeenNick on-demand

Unfortunately, Hulu with Live TV doesn’t carry the TeenNick live stream. However, the Hulu library does include some TeenNick shows.

Yidio is a video aggregator that links to content across many different streaming services, including Netflix, Hulu, iTunes, Crackle, Crunchyroll and many others. If you subscribe to one or more of the streaming services that Yidio supports, you can connect your accounts to Yidio and save time when you watch TV. Yidio has a TeenNick page that will help you find your favorite TeenNick shows.

Nickelodeon apps and websites

Like many cable TV channels, Nickelodeon is a TV Everywhere participant. TV Everywhere lets you access live TV streams and on-demand content across a variety of platforms. As mentioned above, the best streaming service for accessing TV Everywhere is DirecTV Now.

Once you unlock TeenNick, you can access on-demand episodes of shows like Zoey 101, Drake and Josh and iCarly. Some free content is available, but you have to use your TV Everywhere credentials to unlock most of the episodes.

The Nick App

Once fully unlocked, you can watch shows like Henry Danger, Game Shakers, Alvin and the Chipmunks, as well as Nicky, Ricky, Dicky & Dawn through the Nick app. A recent update added even more content to it than was previously available before. It’s available on many different platforms, including iOS, Android, Roku and Amazon.

Nick Jr.

The Nick Jr. site has on-demand episodes of shows like Block Party, Shimmer and Shine and similar titles. Its interface is picture-based, which makes it easier for children to access. As is the case with the TeenNick website, you have to have TV Everywhere credentials to watch most of the shows.

The main Nick site has full episodes of hit Nickelodeon shows like Spongebob Squarepants, The Loud House, Henry Danger and others.

Nick at Nite

The Nick at Nite website doesn’t have any full episodes. However, it does have a TV schedule and some animated gifs of popular Nick at Nite shows.

What’s the best way to watch TeenNick without cable?

If you’re trying to save as much money as possible, you may want to go with Philo. The cheapest Philo subscription only costs $16 a month. That’s a great deal. On the other hand, Philo’s channel menu is very limited compared to competing streaming services.

If you like the idea of accessing TV Everywhere content including the Nick app, DirecTV Now is the best choice. DirecTV Now works with almost every TV Everywhere app. Here are just a few TV Everywhere apps that work with DirecTV Now: ABC, BET, CSN Chicago, Comedy Central, Sundance TV, SYFY Now, Travel Channel, TV Land, USA NOW VH1, Viceland and WEtv.

Sling TV is the ideal streaming service for people that like to customize everything. Once you buy a base subscription, you can tailor it to your entertainment preferences by adding add-on channel packs. There are 70+ add-on packs to choose from. Dog lovers can get DogTV for an extra $5. Fans of any NBA team can get a special team-specific channel and access to NBA TV for just $5. There are add-ons for Chinese, French, Arabic and Polish speakers, as well.
